Delayed OPT Reporting

Hi All,

I am on OPT STEM extension that will expire in July 2016. I changed my employer in September, but I unfortunately didn't report it to USCIS within 10 days. I will be reporting it now (Dec 8). Will there be any issues due to this? I have proof of employment and pay stubs of three months (Sept-Dec) to show that I was employed.

Also, I plan to travel to India at the end of December to visit and I'll be back in January. Will I face any issues at the re-entry point due to this delay in reporting?

Talk to your dso, you probably have to apply for reinstatement

Since you changed your employer, probably your previous employer's details are in your SEVIS. This is good because your SEVIS probably isn't completed because of this. Talk with your DSO and see if you can work it out.

As of now uscis is accepting employment verification in case of rfe about opt reporting mismatch . so u should be fine

Notify your DSO of the date you lost your job and the date you started your new one. Consult your DSO and find out what can happen. USCIS might forgive this error if you report it. If they find out, this might be bad for you.
