OPT fever

Hello friends,
Please give me a clarification on OPT.
My situation:
I'm currently on H4 and pursing MS. To be eligible for OPT,I'm planning to make a COS but due to large no. of applications, USCIS is taking a minimum of 5 months to reveal the decision. Suppose considering my COS is approved in April 2016, NOTE: EXPECTED GRADUATION: DECEMBER 2016, would I be eligible for OPT?

Please help.

With December graduation No. You have to be on f-1 status for atleast one year to be eligible for opt

AFAIK one should be on F1 for at least 12 months to be eligible for OPT. I may be wrong. Please wait for other replies too..

You just have to be full time student for 2 semesters - fall and spring - in any visa.. If you have satisfied that then you are eligible for OPT.

how do you know that USCIS taking 5 months? I have applied my opt on 16th september and still waiting for my response. after 10 days, i will complete my 90 days period as well
