Regarding OPT Start date

Hi,

I am graduating on Dec 18, 2015 and planning to start OPT application procedure in first week on Dec. I am planning to give OPT start date as Feb 10th. But suppose my application is received by USCIS on 20th Dec and If I get my EAD card after 2.5 to 3 months i.e around March 20. What will be my OPT start date? will be Feb 10th or USCIS will give date in March?

And from what day my days for unemployment will count? 10th Feb or when EAD card is received.

My DSO said that while filling application we just request OPT start date, when EAD card comes USCIS will give new start date.

Please help.

Unless there is a delay due to USCIS they dont change the start date. Your unemployment starts from the feb 10th (start date of your OPT)
