I am an F1 student close to finishing my masters. I filed I-765 application for employment authorization (EAD). I received my application back with a letter on green paper and I-797C Notice of Action form stating that my application was rejected because the date on the check I submitted was incorrect.
I am planning to resubmit the application with a new check. I have a few questions in regard to filing the application.
1. I-765 Form (http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/f...form/i-765.pdf) : Section 11 on I-765 says "Have you ever applied for employment authorization from USCIS?". As I did apply for employment authorization a month ago but got rejected for the reasons mentioned above, should I mark "Yes" here? If marked yes, then the subsection says "Results(Granted or Denied - attach all documentation)". What documentation should I be attaching. Should it just be the "I-797C" Rejection of Notice or the whole package that was returned back.
2. I-20 : By the time I received my package back , it had been more than 30 days since my I-20 was issued. As applications must be received by USCIS within 30 days of the I-20 issuance date, I asked my college to issue me another OPT I-20 application. I now have a new I-20 application for OPT. My question is, when I resubmitting my form should I include my previous OPT I-20 application as well ?
Thank You!
