Hey I had question about visiting INDIA on OPT. I am on OPT and my 3 months has expired but still I havent got any job. I am from Mechanical Engineering . I joined an IT consultancy but since in december its market is almost dead I was planning to visit India. Consultancy said that using his Travel letter and Job offer letter, I will have no problem while coming back. So will I be questioned about change of field from Mech to IT?

Because I am visiting India on 16th of this month and returns 28 th of this month I have no job right now but I have client letter and my Opt I20 and eid
Will it be a prob now to visit India??

No questions asked in my case at Houston Airport. As long as you have all documents correct, you are good to go.
1. EAD CARD
2. Valid F-1 Visa
3. Travel i20 with signature on second page within 6 months.
4. Job offer letter.
5. Vacation letter. (Employer stating that you will be on leave from specific to specific date and will return to resume employment)
In worst scenario, they will ask to prove you relation between your field and Job offer letter. In that case for safety you can have a letter from your employer stating the relation. Or you can explain it yourself.But thats worst scenario. Even Job offer letter is optional. Its for safe side. So, unless your POE is Chicago or some dangerous places, you are good to go..Comment
