Hi Desiopt and fellow students, thanks for your help.
I am working and had am on OPT STEM 17 month STEM extension currently (h1 did not get picked up this year) and it will be expiring by the end of November 2015. The proposed 24 month stem extension is still not yet confirmed and is in the public domain for comments for a month. My questions are
1) What should be my next step.Considering it gets implemented successfully ,is it possible for me to get an additional 7 more months once my OPT STEM expires, and is it possible that the dhs/uscis will allow me to avail those 120 days of unemployment to extend my current OPT? (ie use those 120 days and wait till feb 2016 once it gets implemented)
2) Worst case, planning to transfer my sevis to another school, but then it would mean that I would not get OPT again, or can I?
I am in a dire situation and any suggestions would be highly appreciated
