Can i work in a field other than my major on opt

I just graduated, my major is biology. But i can't find any job in my field . I did find some IT related job, but i am not sure if it is fine to work in field not related to my major and if it will create problem when i file for H1?
What field in IT will be good for someone with a degree in biology??

If you want to go by law then no..
But in reality majority of them change to IT . and the consequences of doing this very negligible ( could be a rfe when you apply for h1) and most qualified attorneys and good consulting companies can easily mange it

It would have been easier if your degree was somewhat related to IT field like MIS. However, biology is completely unrelated to IT. During your h1b rfe, it would be difficult to convince USCIS that your degree is related to job profile. I would suggest you to try finding a job in clinical trials IT. I am sure you studied chemistry or related subjects so clinical trials IT can be a good option.

Why you studied biology then? You could have simply taken admission in Tier 4 or 5 univ, get a namesake degree & joined desi consultancy like our bros grin emoticon
