Please advice on choosing between STEM Extension and Second Master's.

My OPT started in Feb 2015. As the 90 day period was coming to an end I joined a consultancy. I still haven’t found a job. My OPT expires on 17th Feb 2016.

Should I keep trying through the current consultancy for a job and apply for STEM extension or apply for a second master’s? The application deadlines for spring 2016 intake is coming closer and I am not able to decide. I am aware that my current OPT will terminate once a new i-20 is issued.

Once I enroll in another master’s, what are the options for me to work and apply for h1? Will I have to wait 1 year to get CPT? Is it legal to join a college where CPT starts from day 1? Am I allowed to do CPT even if I enroll in an online program?

I came across something called ‘HTIR Work and Study USA’. Is this legal and safe?

Please advice.

take admit in a day 1 cpt and wait until january mid if dhs makes some changes you can ignore the admit or else transfer your sevis before enrollment .

Your Current OPT gets cancelled only if your SEVIS gets transferred. So, take an admit from any university(don't attempt to transfer sevis) and hold on until Jan then act accordingly based upon the situation at that point of time.
