Extend CPT while waiting for OPT

Hello,

I will graduate in December, i applied for OPT 2 weeks ago and had cpt before applying for opt and my cpt will end on november. Question is i am changing my employer, can i change my cpt now and extend it to my last day of class so that i dont have a gap between opt and cpt?
