60 Day Grace period

I see that there is a 60-day grace period after my program graduation date before which I will have to get my OPT EAD card.
And also I read on the Internet that I have a 60-day grace period to stay in US once my 12 month OPT time expires (provided I've been working and don't stay unemployed for more than 90 days during my OPT time).
I just wanted to get it confirmed whether both these 60-day grace periods (the one after my graduation date, and the one after my OPT expiration date) are different or are they calculated together (i.e., broken up into intervals) as long as the total doesn't exceed 60 days?

Apply for your OPT card before your graduation date. You can apply up to 90 days in advance. Applying early ensures that if something goes wrong with the application and it is rejected or denied, you may still have a chance to re-apply before the end of the 60 days after your program end date.
