My OPT started on July 10, ever since then, I have been working as an Unpaid trainee software engineer with a consultancy. The offer letter does not mention if it is a paid or unpaid position, it just mentions that I am on training.
1.Having said that, is it necessary to run my payroll as "Zero" to show proof of employment and to avoid unemployment days? Do we actually need paystubs for unpaid position during OPT STEM extension or during H1B?
2.If paystub is not needed, should my offer letter explicitly mention that it is an unpaid position, to avoid any issues?
3. Is there any restriction on the no of days one can be on unpaid work during initial OPT?
