Travel India on STEM OPT Before applying H1B

Hi,
I am currently on OPT extension. Its valid till june 5th 2016. I am applying for H1B next April 2016.
I want to Go to India on Feb Last week and come back in March 3rd week..
Is it ok to travel to India before 15 days of applying to H1B??
If Not can i travel in May after my H1b is approved on student Visa...!!

I am applying H1B on Premium..

Yes, it is ok to travel and return before April 1st 2016.

you dont have to be in USA for your employer to sponsor your h1b , as long as you have "legimate" and "proper" job offer , vipro . TCS , satyam etc etc files thousands of h1 when their employees are not in usa

No problem you can go to India and come back before you apply your H1.

As long as you have a valid F-1 visa in your passport, don’t see any reason not to travel before the H-1B filing. You should discuss this with the attorney who is preparing the H-1B petition so that s/he is aware of your travel plans and will need to get updated I-94 information before filing.
If you don’t have a valid F-1 visa in your passport, it may be safer not to travel.
