Right Time to graduate

Hi,

I am a MS student and have option of graduating in December 2015 or May 2015. If I graduate in December and start working by February 2016 on OPT. My OPT period would end in February 2017. If I don't have a H1 visa till then, would I be allowed to continue working till then.

What difference does it make to your time of graduation? Either way if the OPT extension rule is denied then you'll only have one year to work and transfer to H1. You'll not be able to work after that, unless until you look for options to be in status.
