How many months of OPT for M.S. in Information Technology Management ?

Hello,

I need to know How many months of OPT for M.S. in Information Technology Management as I see M.S it should be 29 months but someone informed me it could be 12 months only also.

Please advise.

This is the most up-to-date STEM list released by DHS/ICE: http://www.ice.gov/sites/default/fil.../stem-list.pdf. Check your “Primary Major” (found on the I-20, page 3), and see if the code is on the list.

To be eligible for the 17-month OPT extension, a student must have received a degree included in the STEM Designated Degree Program List. This list sets forth eligible courses of study according to Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) codes developed by the U.S. Department of Education's National Centerfor Education Statistics (NCES)

Check with your school officials whehter your degree program falls under this list or not.
