I started my masters in spring 2014 i was about to complete my masters in spring 2015 but i went to India on December 7th 2014 came back on January 7th 2015 and started my term but due to an emergency. I had to drop my courses and had to go back to India on January 27th 2015. I was doing my internship and two other subjects along that due to the emergency i dropped all the courses and went to India. The international department head told that you can go to India and will have no problem they just told me that your current sevis id will be terminated we will need to issue you a new sevis id. so i left to India and came back to USA on may 11th 2015 and went to university to apply for opt they told me that if you need to get opt you will have to do one more semester as a full time student. Since your old sevis was terminated and new sevis was given you need to at least maintain two semesters as full time to be eligible for opt. They told me that i have to be full time student for summer 2015 and fall 2015 to get opt. Is it true? My question is if i register for summer and fall 2015 and maintain full time status will i get opt or will my opt get rejected because my old sevis got terminated? what are the requirements for being eligible to apply for opt?
