TPS and OPT work authorization confusion
I am an international student working now under OPT authorization. I am originally from Nepal. Recently, USCIS granted Nepal the TPS status. I want to apply to TPS with work authorization. I have few questions in my mind before I apply for it. Your response will be a great help. My questions are as follows;
1. Can I apply for TPS with work authorization? I am confused because I already have EAD work authorization.
2. Now TPS is granted till Dec 2016. My EAD expires in Jan 2016 and with stem extension I can get work authorization till June 2017. If I apply for TPS and the USCIS remove from Nepal from this category immediately after Dec 2016, Can I apply for STEM extension for the remaining period of 5-6 months?
3. Or I can apply for TPS now and once my EAD expires in Jan 2016, I can apply STEM extension having TPS authorization?
