Travel in between OPT and STEM extension.

Hello All,
I had applied for my OPT early this year. The start date of my OPT is March 11th, 2015. The end date of my initial OPT is February 28th, 2016. So, I am planning to apply for my STEM extension early November, i.e. first week of November 2015. I am believing that I can get my OPT STEM extension EAD card by January Ending or early February of 2016 and the start date on my STEM Extension EAD card would be 29th February 2016. My question is that I will have to travel to India in the last week of February 2016 for 15 days. I will return to USA in first week of March 2016. My question is :
1) Because I will be in India when my initial OPT ends and my STEM extension begins, it should not cause any issue right? i.e. I will go to India when I am on OPT and return using my STEM extension EAD card and I-20.

Kindly clarify this for me. I appreciate your help. Sorry for providing so many dates ( just wanted to be as specific as possible, so that you guys can give me correct advice). Thanks.

This should not be a problem. However, you cannot travel if your STEM extension is pending. Your STEM extension must be approved before you leave.
