OPT EAD card

Hello Desiopt guys..
You are doing great job, I have a question on OPT EAD card. I have applied for it and called them to request for expedition. They are saying that you should have your biometrics done. Then and only then you can request for expedition. The thing is I have never heard about biometrics for OPT EAD card. Is this something new or they have misunderstood something? thank you in advance..

who ever applies online has to get biometrics. nothing to worry. Its kind of security clearance.
