IS it safe to travel puerto rico ?

Hello,

I did my bachelors and graduated last year May 2014. I am on my first OPT and Will expire in June 23 2015. I did apply OPT Extension and still the status is pending. My F-1 Visa has expired on April 15 2015. I just have valid drivers licences.
My question is I am planning to travel to Puerto Rico on July 4 weekend. Is it safe to travel to Puerto Rico having my OPT Extension status still in Pending and F-1 Visa Expire.
