Travelling to India on OPT STEM EXT

Hi all,

I want to travel to India during November 2015 for 15 days. I am on OPT & working in IT field from Oct 2014. My current OPT is going to expire in September 2015 & I am applying for STEM extension in next month. My F1 VISA expired in Sep 2015. I would like to know if I can travel to India with OPT STEM ext-EAD card and then go to stamping at the US Consulate in India for coming back to US or is there any risk.

Please share your opinion.

Risk you have finished your masters and why you want to go back to us .if u have a perfect answer to convence the officer u can go

It is never recommended to go for stamping once the OPT has begun. Your ties to your home country are now very tenuous. You have studied here, and now you are working here. They will assume that you will also want to apply for H-1B at some point as well. You will need to be ready to show that you have very strong ties to your home country and that you are returning to India once your OPT is over.
