Struck very bad , Need help. OPT Expiring soon.

Hi All ,

I have a very unfortunate case here. My OPT was approved in August 2014. I had to apply reinstatement in OCT 2014 as I had one more course to graduate and my F1 I20 was out if date.So, my DSO suggested I apply reinstatement.My Reinstatement decision came out positive in MAY 2015. I still have three months of active OPT time left on my EAD. However , my record in SEVIS indicates that my OPT has ended on the day my Reinstatement was approved. i.e. May 4th 2014. My DSO says she has exhausted all her options. My school is supportive about my case.

What are my options now ? I have followed all the rules and regulations laid out by SEVIS and USCIS.

1)Do I have to file for reinstatement again for match OPT EAC date to the on my I-20 ?

2)If i did that , And if it took more time to process then my OPT end date.Will I still be able to apply for STEM extension ?

3)How far will an Immigration attorney will be able to help my case.

I'm practically struck.

Please help me comprehend a way out of this scenario or refer me to somebody who you think can help me out of this mess.

A good immigration attorney can do the necessary research to see if your OPT was supposed to be cancelled and if you’re eligible to apply again.
