OPT Extension Eligibility

Hi All, I have a question of my OPT extension...

My major name on my degree and transcript is not exactly the same with that name on the STEM list but the CIP code is on that ...The CIP code of my degree was confirmed by department of registrar and records...But my international student officer thought that is not eligible for applying for OPT extension and actually they put the wrong major name and CIP code on my I20,which is not the same with my degree and transcript...

Do I still have any chances to update that major name and CIP code on my I20 and apply for extension? Is there anybody met the same or similar situation with mine? Thank you!

Yes, DSO can update major on I-20 anytime. I had a wrong major on my I-20 and was updated just before applying OPT.
