OPT- Part Time Employment Querry

I have strange situation.
I am on OPT and joined a e-verified company who is marketing me(I am not getting paid).
There is another small company(not sure if that is e-verified) which is asking me to do paid work on part time basis initially and they will convert me full time employee when they might have project down the line.

Please advise how can I work for the company as paid part time employee and continue my marketing with the other company without affecting my Visa status?

You can work for more than one employer as long as both jobs are in your field. You should also file a letter of employment from the second job with your school. You will be fine.

What if it exceeds 40 hrs/week time ???

It can be more than 40 hrs if you are on OPT. 40 hr rule is only for CPT
