Reg opt period

Hi all,
I am currently pursuing in UCM and i am passing out in summer sem by aug of 2015. most of my friends are saying that rather if we passout in summer the chances to file H1 will be only twice. If we complete the course by dec i.e. fall 2015. I have chance to file for H1 three time with extend opt. please help me out at this situation which is the best time to passout. so that i can decide and take CPT which would make me passout in dec 2015.

Your friends are right. If you passout in Dec and Jan you will have 3 chances to file for H1b. If that is your main goal to try 3 times then you may want to delay passing out and do so.

So what if ur h1b picks in ur first attempt u will be ending in paying high taxes u cant use ur opt period and if u loose ur job u need to take money frm ur pockets to run ur paystubs more importently u r ruining some one chaces of h1b by applying earlier wen not needed chill buddy trust ur luck use 2 chances

Apply for opt with start date of oct ( as late as possible . u can choose up to 60 days from grad date ) . by this u can still have 3 chances and finish it by aug ..

I think there is no relation you passing the class or graduating and H1b. H1b can be filed any time during your legal stay.
If you are planning to graduate in a scenario were you will get to chance well and good... Good Luck
