OPT STEM Extension: Consultancy firm paystubs when on bench

    OPT STEM Extension: Consultancy firm paystubs when on bench

    Hi,

    If I join a consultancy firm and stay on bench for close to 6 months while also searching for a full time job and the consultancy firm runs a pay roll for me for all the 6 months that I am on bench by paying me for 20 hours at a rate above the minimum wage for a particular state, can I use the those pay stubs as a proof when applying for an OPT STEM extension ? Also, if I get a full time job after those 6 months and apply for an OPT STEM extension in the new company's name, can I show the pay stubs generated by the consultancy firm as a proof that I have been employed before and have worked for 20 hours if asked ?

    When I say 20 hours, I meant 20 hours per week. Sorry for the error.

          1 u dont need those to apply for stem ext .. But u need when u get an rfe ..
