OPT stem extension pending- laid off

Hi,

I applied for OPT extension in end of January 2014 and got laid off in the first week of february 2014.
I contacted told my college about my situation and they asked me to find a job asap & apply for amendment- change of employment.
Now, i got a job after one month but i am confused should i go for my amendment or let the old application go through as neither my ex-employer nor my college reported this to USCIS. Because i am scared that the change of employment will lead to RFE and they'll ask me why i didn't tell them about the job ended . Has anybody got RFE because of change of employment?

It's better you inform uscis considering a situation where they call your previous employer to verify if you are working there as you have mentioned that in the application
