Hi
I joined Masters as a full-time student in a Quarter-based state university on H-4 Visa in April, 2014. I have applied for Change of Status from H-4 to F-1 Visa in Jan, 2015. I'm planning to graduate in June, 2015. The last date to apply for OPT in that case would be June 14, 2015. If I get my F-1 visa confirmation from USCIS around June 1st week (The processing is very slow right now and it may take 3.5 months to 6 months), Can I apply for OPT immediately and get it granted. Or, Will my OPT be rejected because I haven't been on F-1 for at least few months. I heard that I have to be on F-1 for at least one full quarter (2.5 months) on F-1 visa to apply OPT. Is that true? Or, staying as a full-time student either on F-1 or H-4 visa would suffice? I tried contacting a International Student Adviser of my school but the information they tell is very different from what I hear from my friends in other universities. So, Please help.
