Hi, I am doing Masters.Recently I got DUI and hit and run case.I just came to USA and I have one year time to finish my Masters.

1. My question is after paying the fine for DUI hit and run. Will I get OPT job or not?

You will get job ,h1 and also green card as long its not a Felony.. Usually 3rd DUI depending on the State is a Felony..

dont worry abt that not will happen cool finish your masters and you will get opt and h1 but when ever u go for background verification mention it .if you dont mention they will know it and refuse to give a job

Though it may cause little truble u still able to get u r immigration done .. But u should always able to explain about u r dui ... Some states may treat dui with hit and run as Felony in that case it can be big trouble ..

you can also have trouble when you go back home to renew your f-1 or get new h1. I have two advice for you: 1. Get a lawyer and try to get these charges off from you. 2. Never lie to any immigration officer at the port of entry or at embassy, they have all your records.

No it won't effect your opt however if they do the background verification it might create a problem

Boss..te life mein bohut aagey nikleesay...Felony or not, dont worry, consult a lawyer, things will be ok and you will reach great heights in life. Just an important note, dont get bogged down by people trying to scare and discourage you..they will never be even a tenth as crazy as you are...
