OPT to H4 EAD - Will I have to stop working?

Hi,

I am currently working on OPT EAD which is valid till Jan 2016. Just wondering if I apply for Change of Status to H4 and H4 EAD together in May, will I have to stop working till the time H4 EAD will be approved or can I continue working on OPT EAD?

You can continue working on the F-1 OPT until it expires or your change of status is approved, whichever happens first.

What happens, if h4 status is approvs first, EAD is still pending ... In that case it will considered as illegal to work..??

but it better to get a h1b sponser which will result in no transfer., becoz h4 ead has so many conditions , its not a easy transfer.

with EAD, you can work for whatever employer and job you want

ya ur right no h1b req, but to get that ead is difficult , and on top if h1b leaves to india permanently your ead is gone , dnt miss the golden oppurtunity of opt , try to get h1b , atlast you dont h1b ,you can transfer then .
