Hi, I am on OPT now and thinking to file for H1 through my employer this year in April. But I might have to travel to India during April-May. So that will be after filing my H1 application. Would that be okay? Will I face any issues while coming back? I wouldn't go if it's not absolutely necessary. So please advice me

Even I have a similar question. My employer will be filing in April 2015. But I need to travel from April 3 to April 12. Will that be a problem? My attorney says its risky! Pls help as I need to travel due to a family emergency!
Also, is there some H1B loose-consular notification where travel wont be restricted? Pls advice.. -

If your employer is going to file H-1B, he needs to get started NOW. The deadline is approaching and the LCA needs to be filed now. You can travel as long as your OPT is still valid and you have a valid F-1 visa in the passport. However, if you travel before the H-1B is approved, your H-1B will be approved as a consular processing H-1B.
