OPT Status

Hi, I applied for my OPT in the last week of Novermber. The start date of my opt is Feb 23rd. I mailed the documents which reached the USCIS on December 9th. Till a few days back it said that the application was being processed. However, it changed to the following.

On February 9, 2015, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number xxxxx and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

All my friends got a different message saying their case has been approved.

1. Is this status normal or should I be worried??
2.When can I expect my card to arrive?

And aloso, what do they mean by new card?? does it just mean new because I'm getting it for the first time or does it mean something is wrong with my EAD so they are giving me a new one?

This status is normal. The card usually comes within 1-2 weeks. Check the case status to see if the card has been “produced” and mailed out. If not, you may want to contact USCIS to see if the card has been mailed out yet.

In a day or two check the status and it will have USPS tracking number. They have mailed your card

this is almost the same as approval since they took more than 90 days they assume you may change your address so they will give you that message nothing to worry good luck

They send through priority mail. So two days max. The status will also list the tracking number once they mail it.

1 week ! I got the same msg..
