    OPT Extension approved- Can I change field?

    I am working as a quality engineer for an automotive company and I just got my opt extended till nov 2014. Graduated last may. I am considering shift to software quality. Is it safe to go ahead considering I have been approved for an extension at my current job? Thanks in advance. You guys do a great job!!!

    You did not mention what major you are. If software quality is related to your major there wont be any problem. If its outside you may find difficulty getting H1b approved.

      When did your OPT expire? and When did u apply for OPT extension and When did it get accepted?

        Here's the full deal. I graduated in may 12 in industrial engineering and am a quality engineer for automobile oem company. I got my opt extended. I want to know if I can shift software quality.
