Hi all,

My OPT is ending on 15th Feb 2015,

1. I applied for OPT extension on 12th January and did not get my receipt yet. How may days it usually takes to receive the receipt??
My friends who applied after me recieved the reciept.
I have called USICS many times to know the status there was no proper response from them.
, Its been 3 weeks i still dint recieve any response for USICS,

2. please suggest what should i do now, am really worried.

Has your check been cashed? If your check has not been cashed, then USCIS has not received your application. If your check has been cashed, check the back of the cancelled check to see if the receipt number is printed on back. If check has been cashed, call USCIS back. They will be able to tell you the receipt number by using your name and date of birth. You should also then make sure they have the correct address on file.

Hi lisa

i called USICS and enquired about my application, they dont have any records of my extension, i enquired my bank they said that the cheque was cashed on jan 15th. i have no idea whats going on with my application process. No records of my STEM Extension they are still saying to wait for some more days.


please suggest me some other alternatives to know the status of my application

Did the money got debited from you account ? Then you usually get it in within 2-3weeks

if u r money cashed out then u r fine ..call uscis to find u r recipt number based on u r name search

if it is cashed then that wont be aproblem your process has started double check your address with them saying that i want to update the address and give them the same adress .it happened to me as well

It was cashed but when i cal uscis they said they cant find any information with my details , Fedex says the package was received by uscis on jan 12 n cheque cashed on 14th whats should i do now , planing to send one more application on monday
