OPT Extension or H1B

Currently i am on OPT as a Contractor..My Consultancy filling H-1B for me this year. I got full time job but then company will apply for H-1B next year during my OPT extension.

- New company gives me full benefits with good package while as a Contractor i do not get much benefit and less pay

What should be best option go for next year H1B or this year H-1b.

go with the contracting company who is applying h1 now its lottery system we cant predict whether it will be picked if your h1 got picked then you can transfer your h1 to the new company .In second case if the h1 was not picket then what is your situation try to apply as early as possible and as many times as possible

don't take risk apply for this year. and if you want you can file H1B transfer to your new company.

I am an immigration lawyer and we get such inquiries all the time. I suggest apply this year so that you have a shot at being picked up in the lottery. Feel free to PM if you have any other questions!

I agree with praveen. As the H1b is now based on lottery system, ur h1b approval is unpredictable. So, u should want to use as many chances to apply for h1 as you can. Apply for h1 now, if it is approved, u can transfer h1.
