In OPT want to change employer

HI all,
Thanks DESIOPT for your kind information forum, it really helps a lot.
I am currently in OPT and did not yet received my OPT card, will receive it in couple of days. But my concern is I have done my CPT with XXX employer and want to change to YYY employer in my OPT. But I have already applied for OPT on my previous employer.
1. So what is the process to change my employer?
2. Should I do it after I receive my OPT card?
3. Can I start working with this process undergoing?
4. How many days would it take for the USCIS to change my employer details?

As long as this is regular OPT (not STEM OPT), wait until you get the OPT card, change jobs and tell your DSO you have changed employer so she can update SEVIS. Unlike H-1B, you are allowed to work for any employer you want as long as the job is related to your degree. You don’t need to inform SEVIS or your DSO before you change jobs – only when or right after you do.
