CPT to OPT Transition

Hi All,

I need some info. I am currently working on my CPT and it will expire on 31st Dec. My opt status is showing as "Card Ordered to be Produced on Dec 23rd". Can I continue to work if I don't receive my card by Jan 1st? Please Advise

No you cannot. You need to have the card physically with you jn order to work legally.

you can continue working if your OPT start date you have chosen while applying is Jan 1st,

remember there should not be any gap between the CPT end date & OPT start date.

Dont use your 12 month cpt if u r doing so u vl nt b eligible for opt STEM extension of 17 months.

No you cannot. But you can take leave of absence for 3 or 4 days until you receive your card.
