OPT after second masters

Hello guys,

I graduated with a masters but did not apply for an OPT. I plan to do a second masters. I have heard that we are [U]not eligible for an OPT[/U] for a second masters if "we have applied for an OPT previously" or "have received an EAD card but not used it" for our previous masters. In my case, I haven't applied for an OPT for my first masters in the first place so am I eligible if I graduate with a second masters and apply? Also, somewhere I read that our OPT is divided across each degree level which confused me.

Any guidance will help me.

Yes you are eligible to apply for opt now. You get separate opt for each degree level that means u get opt after bachelors, after masters and after phd separately

You are eligible for the opt if you did not apply after your first masters.. but a word of advice, make sure your second masters comes under STEM- it's very important. One of my friends made a mistake (did MBA), and now he is doing his 'third' ms with CPT.
