Time frame for MVR (Motion to reconsider/reopen)

First, i would like to thank all of you for sharing your experiences.

My question is: How long would it take to get decision for I290B (Motion to reconsider/reopen). Not sure but some people said its 6months. But i called to USCIS they said Motion for Appeal might takes 6months but Motion to reconsider/reopen takes 3 months. I had applied this motion to reopen/reconsider for my opt denial case on 15,September. On 2nd December, they sent me a letter saying that my case is reopen. Will it takes 3 more months from the case reopend date. Totally frustrated and confused. Please share your thoughts and experiences. Thanks

Aman, Could you please share what is the outcome of your I290B? I just got a denial letter because my DSO updated my SEVIS a day after I applied. Your response is greatly appreciated.
