  • OPT Extension - Completed more than 90 days but still not received my new EAD.

    Hello,
I applied for OPT 17 month extension on August 22nd, 2014. I received the receipt on August 27th 2014 stating that "USCIS have received the case and now it is in process.

After that I called once on 11/05/2014. But as the 75 - 90 days were not completed, I still had to wait for my Case status.

Now its been more tan 90 days an still it stays that its in process. I called on 12/01/2014 and placed a Service Request.

Should I expedite the process ?

What is this Interim EAD ? Does anybody have received this interim EAD ??

Your suggestions and guidelines are appreciated.

    Waiting for your response(s).

USCIS no longer issues interim EAD’s.
You are authorized to work for up to 180 days past the expiration of your OPT if the STEM OPT application is pending (http://www.ice.gov/doclib/sevis/pdf/...nce_042010.pdf, page 28). Unless you’re getting close to the 180 days, it’s unlikely an expedite request will be honored.

          1. Yes
          2. Interim EAD can be requested if USCIS does not adjudicate (Approve or Deny) the EAD application within 90 days.
