Hi all

I have completed my masters in dec 2013 and started working in Januray, my job ended in may 31 and since than i dont have job. My OPT is going to expire on january 31, 2015. How long can i stay after opt expires in US(I am not working, rightnow).please respond..Thanks

I was working as a research assistant in university as a part time employee. I am not working at all rightnow. I have just married to USC boy and he filled green card for me but i might get interview in january or february not sure.. but my OPT expires on january 31st 2015.. I might remian out of status for some time.. is that okay?

You have already stayed too long and should leave the country immediately. You are not supposed to accrue more than 90 days of unemployment time; when you do, it’s considered a violation of your status. As you have already accrued that much time, you are out of status and should leave the country ASAP. You may want to speak with an attorney as well regarding the repercussions.
