STEM OPT start date

Hi,

My initial OPT expires November 10, 2014. I have applied for STEM OPT extension a while ago. I received RFE and replied on oct 25, 2014.If my STEM opt is approved in December or January, i can still work till dec or jan but my question is:

1. For instance, if the STEM OPT is approved on December 30, 2014. Will my stem OPT start from November 11, 2014 (the day after actual OPT expires) or will it start from December 30, 2014 (stem opt approved date)? Any informational links are also appreciated.

OPT Stem extension start date is independent of approval date ! It starts from the next day of your OPT expiration date !
