  • Travel out of US on OPT,deadline 30 Days

    Hi guys,
Recently I got OPT card, due to emergency I travelled out of USA, without some prior works done.
    Now I dont have...
1.Signature on I-20 as part of travel form school.
    2. Job offer letter ( I will try to manage from consultancy if possible).

    My question is
    1. How to solve these problems to clear immigration at port of entry.

    Any advice is highly appreciated.

You need to speak with your DSO about the first one.

First get a offer letter from any consulting company then update those details in your sevis, and tell your university dso to send updated i20 to your international address.

1st if your i20 is issued less than a semester ago, then its ok. No need of signature. If it is older than that, you may contact your university DSO and ask him/her to mail it your address

If it is too emergency.. Ask your DSO to email new I20 to you and take a printout of your I20.

My advice is to tell them that u forgot your i-20 where u were coming from. And they will grant u stay some days like 30days so u can go to your school to get new i-20 and mail it to them and then they will mail the i-20 back to you DSO. I think they will give u form i515. I can't rem. I traveled this January and I forgot my i-20 so they allowed.me in for 30 days since I have a valid f1 visa as they told me to do what I just told u

Do you mean the school didn't sign in the travel i-20 or you? If 1st case, then you can ask the school to resend it to wherever you are. Or you can ask your friend to pick it up from the school and deliver it quickly. Same is the case for Offer letter. At least ask them to scan and email them to you in the worst case when you don't have time.
