Travel on OPT ?

Hi,

I am planning on travelling to India and come back to work on
My OPT Expires in February 2015 but I will apply for OPT-Ext
later this year. My F-1 visa expired in June 2014.
Is there any way I can travel to India and return back ?
I am aware that I can only return with a valid F-1 visa.
How can I extend or re-apply for a valid F-1 visa.
