Post OPT - RFE

Hi I need urgent advice on my case.
I had applied for initial Post - OPT in June and my start date was in July first week. But received a RFE recently few days ago and have to submit few documents from college.
My Question is: After i submit the documents what will be the start date on my EAD card?
What if 3 months are over and i still do not receive any update from the USCIS on my application or if the status is still on RFE ?
How will the unemployment days be calculated and what should i do to avoid unemployment days while on RFE ?
Please has anyone faced such situation ? Any help or inputs are appreciated.

2 u can not work until u get u r ead
3 dont worry.. U dont have to work till u get u r opt
