  • LOSt OPT in mail and Start date already started

Hi, I am writing to know what i have to do next.
I was expecting my EAD card to be mailed by my university and it seems to be lost in transit now.
my start date is july 22nd and i still haven't received my card now.
What am i supposed to do next ?? Do i have to reapply for new card???
IF so wat will happen to my start date in new card ??
Will it be the same as the old date or will it be a new date??
IF its the old date i will accumulate a lot of unemployment days.
    Please advise. thank You.

Contact international office, the start date you put is tentative date, but as far as possible limit the unemployement days

            Am in the same situation...so
1.u need to apply for new card.
2.That card will be same as the card you lost, same number, same date and everything same.
3.U need to know ead card number, so go to uscis office nearby to know that or,it is present in the approval letter sent from USCIS after the card got approved.
4.you can start working , if your employer is ok with the situation, cos ead card number is the only thing needed for running your payroll.
