Newborn child visa in India

Hello everyone,
Our baby boy born in India last month. We applied for his passport and making arrangements for his return to US. I am on my OPT extension and working full-time with visa expiring in 2016. Can someone share what would be the procedure to apply for his visa at US embassy once the passport arrives? What documents needed? is the baby need to appear at the embassy for stamping?
If anyone experienced similar situation please help me.

baby doesnt need to appear at consulate....
there will be a dropbox for kids
