Hi All,
I've a question. My opt start date is Sept 2014, I need to go to India in Jan 2015 so in rarest case if I dont get a paid employment before my travel to India will I have any immigration issue showing a volunteering job while returning back to the USA?

It is always better to carry employment letter during your return with your job title, employment start date info.

At port of entry, officer will not ask whether it is paid or unpaid employment.

But as long as you are working min. 20 hours per week with no salary, you are fine.
