Hi,
My application for an OPT extension was received by USCIS on 6/23 and the receipt was mailed back to me on 6/24, but I haven't received it yet. My OPT expired on 6/30 , so my employer has put me on LOA until I provide the receipt. The problem is I feel the mail with the receipt has been misdirected or possibly lost, but I have no way of knowing that since USCIS doesn't track its mails. I also applied for an address change with USCIS on 7/8 and got a mail from them acknowledging the same on 8/14. This mail had the receipt no and the case type, but my employer is unwilling to accept this, as he needs the actual document. What are my options if the mail is actually lost? Is my employer right in placing me on LOA until the document is received?
Thanks a lot for your help in advance.
