  • My 90 days of OPT unemployment period is getting over, How can I find a position

My 90 days of OPT unemployment period is getting over, How can I find a position quickly?

I'm a recent graduate in Economics. I'm currently on OPT. Since my 90 days OPT is about to be expired, I am urgent to find volunteer positions in Business Administration & Business Analyst.

    DesiOPT.com Response:

    1) Try Resume Blast feature of DesiOPT.com (sign up link in the comments)
    2) Proactively call and apply jobs posted at DesiOPT.com
    3) Do the same at other job sites

I would suggest to approach some department staff at your uni. and explain your position with the OPT and that your looking for some temporary position (research or whatever be it related to your field) + you dont mind if its unpaid... say you really need it to maintain visa status until you can find your REAL JOB outside... they sure must be kind enough to help you out using their contacts

Find good employer and find job ASAP... Discuss with employer he will guide what needs to be done to maintain the status.. Take care

Create your own company LCC. It is cheap for about $200. Then create your own pay stubs for that 90 day period.

I would NOT recommend that you create your own company and fabricate paystubs to show that you have been employed for a period of time in which you were not. It sounds like fraud to me. I would instead recommend reaching out to accounting firms which are VERY busy this time of year and see if you can find employment there.
