  • Change of address on OPT

    Hi,

I recently graduated and applied for my post-OPT. While it was on initial review I updated my new address on the USCIS website. On the third day my case changed to post-decision status. I have 2 questions regarding this.

    1. Will the change of address delay from receiving the card although I changed before a decision was made?

    2. Do I need to call them up or email as well to notify my change of address ?

    Thanks

You need to wait for 30 days to receipt the card. Dont call them until 30 days.
Incase if you dont get the card with in 30 days, you need to refile for replacement card.

        Good Luck.

            2. If you updated something to the USCIS, you should definitely receive a mail regarding your update. If you didnot yet, then call them up and make sure.

It happened the same case with me. On the day when my decision is moved to Approved and post-decision status, I changed the address. Once I submitted AR-11 form my OPT status was set back to initial review for a week. But I got the card to my old address on the 8th day.

                1) it may take few days more to get your card in hand but do not effect your processing
                2) file AR-11 by paper or online and change the address online or by phone for pending petitions so you will be good !!!
